The Hollywood Film Festival and the Hollywood Discovery Awards are the first international and independent competitive Festival and Awards committed to bridging the gap between Hollywood, emerging independent filmmakers and storytellers. The Hollywood Film Festival showcases a selection of feature films, shorts, documentaries, and animation. The Festival includes the Hollywood Documentary Film Festival, Hollywood Online Film Festival, Hollywood Shorts Film Festival, and Hollywood Animation Film Festival sidebars to make sure filmmakers get visibility in Hollywood's backyard.
The Festival was founded by New York Times bestselling authors Carlos de Abreu and Janice Pennington de Abreu to discover neophyte talent from the global creative community and to introduce their work to mainstream Hollywood.

Independent Films "The Sugar Factory" and "Paradise Falls" Win Best Feature Film Awards.

Distinguished producers Richard D. Zanuck and David Brown, whose blockbuster hits include The Sting, Jaws, The Verdict, Cocoon, and Driving Miss Daisy, honored with the festival's Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Producing Award.

Award-winning composer Stewart Copeland, whose body of work includes the scores for the films Rumble Fish, Wall Street, Talk Radio, See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Taking Care of Business, The Wide Sargasso Sea and Gridlock'd among others, the 1998 recipient of the Hollywood Music in Film Visionary Award.
