HOLLYWOOD FILM FESTIVAL TO HONOR
TWO TIME OSCAR WINNER JODIE FOSTER WITH
THE "HOLLYWOOD OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT
IN ACTING AWARD."

TO GET HOLLYWOOD BREAKTHROUGH AWARDS.

Hollywood, CA -- August 14, 2002 -- The Hollywood Film Festival® has announced that actress JODIE FOSTER, who has received four Academy Award nominations and won two Oscars® for her performances, will be honored with the festival's "Hollywood Outstanding Achievement in Acting Award."

The announcement was made today by Carlos de Abreu, Founder and Executive Director of the Hollywood Film Festival. Said Mr. de Abreu, "One of the most critically acclaimed actresses of her generation, Jodie Foster has demonstrated extraordinary ability throughout her career. She is a distinguished performer whose high standard of professionalism is to be applauded and honored."

The festival will also honor acclaimed "Mulholland Drive" star NAOMI WATTS, with its "Hollywood Breakthrough Acting Award," and will honor "Charlie's Angels" director McG with the "Hollywood Breakthrough Directing Award."

The awards will be bestowed upon Ms. Foster, Ms. Watts, and McG as part of the Hollywood Movie Awards® Gala Ceremony on Monday evening, October 7, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Other festival honorees include MPAA president JACK VALENTI, director MARTIN SCORSESE, screenwriter ROBERT TOWNE, producers DOUGLAS WICK and LUCY FISHER, cinematographer JANUSZ KAMINSKI, editor PIETRO SCALIA, composer MARC SHAIMAN, production designer HAROLD MICHELSON, songwriter CAROLE BAYER SAGER and casting director MARCIA ROSS.

Most recently, Ms. Foster stars in Columbia's thriller "Panic Room," and the independent coming-of-age story "The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys," which she also produced.

JODIE FOSTER began her acting career at age three, appearing as "The Coppertone Girl" in TV commercials and working as a regular on a number of TV series. She made her film debut in "Napoleon and Samantha" when she was eight. Her role in "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" (1974) and her powerful portrayal of the streetwise teenager in Martin Scorsese's film "Taxi Driver" (1976) won her widespread critical praise and international attention. She received her first Oscar® nomination for her role in "Taxi Driver." Since then, she has won Academy Awards for Best Actress for her portrayal of the rape survivor in "The Accused" (1988) and Special Agent Clarice Starling in the hit thriller "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991). She also received an Oscar® nomination for her performance in "Nell" (1994).

In addition to her acclaimed work as a performer, Jodie Foster is also a talented director and producer. She made her feature film directorial debut with "Little Man Tate" and her producing debut with "Nell," while also starring in both films. She also directed and produced "Home for the Holidays."

Ms. Foster's feature film work also includes "Tom Sawyer" (1973), "Bugsy Malone" (1976), "Echoes of Summer" (1976), "The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane" (1976), "Freaky Friday" (1977), "Foxes" (1980), "The Hotel New Hampshire" (1984), "Le Sang des Autres" (1984), "Siesta" (1987), "Stealing Home" (1988), "Five Corners" (1988), "Shadows and Fog" (1991), "Sommersby" (1993), "Maverick" (1994), "Contact" (1997), and "Anna and the King" (1999), among others.

NAOMI WATTS is an accomplished actress working steadily in the U.S., England and Australia. She received outstanding reviews and recognition for her starring performance in David Lynch's award-winning film "Mulholland Drive." In addition to her film "The Ring," Ms. Watts will also be seen in "Plots with a View," with Brenda Blethyn and Christopher Walken, "Le Divorce" with Kate Hudson and will soon start filming "Twenty-One Grams" with Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro.

McG made his feature film directing debut with the extraordinarily successful "Charlie's Angels," starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. He is currently shooting the sequel "Charlie's Angels: Halo" for release in June 2003 and is developing the revitalized Superman franchise for Warner Bros. McG also directed the pilot for the highly anticipated television show "Fastlane" which he also produces through his production company, Wonderland.
